چکیده

We consider the initial boundary value (IBV) problem for focusing nonlinear Schrodinger equation in quarter plane x>0, t >0 case of periodic data, u(x,0) = ? exp(?2i?x) (or asymptotically periodic, u(x, 0) =? exp(?2i?x)?0 as x??), and a Robin condition at x 0: ux(0, t)+qu(0, t) 0, q ? 0. Our approach is based on unified transform (the Fokas method) combined with symmetry considerations corresponding Riemann-Hilbert (RH) problems. present representation solution IBV terms an associated RH problem. This also allows us to determine (IV) problem, shock type, which being restricted half-line > 0 original In ? 0,...

MIXED BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM FOR A QUARTER-PLANE WITH A ROBIN CONDITION

We consider a mixed boundary value problem for a quarter-plane with a Robin condition on one edge. We have developed two procedures, one based on the advanced theory of dual integral equations and the other, in our opinion simpler technique, relying on conformal mapping. Both of the procedures are of interest, because the former may be easier to adapt to other boundary value problems.

Self-Focusing in the Damped Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation

We analyze the effect of damping (absorption) on critical self-focusing. We identify a threshold value δth for the damping parameter δ such that when δ > δth damping arrests blowup. When δ < δth, the solution blows up at the same asymptotic rate as the undamped nonlinear Schrödinger equation.

Nvestigation of a Boundary Layer Problem for Perturbed Cauchy-Riemann Equation with Non-local Boundary Condition

Boundary layer problems (Singular perturbation problems) more have been applied for ordinary differential equations. While this theory for partial differential equations have many applications in several fields of physics and engineering. Because of complexity of limit and boundary behavior of the solutions of partial differential equations these problems considered less than ordinary case. In ...

Degenerate Convection-Diffusion Equation with a Robin boundary condition

We study a Robin boundary problem for degenerate parabolic equation. We suggest a notion of entropy solution and propose a result of existence and uniqueness. Numerical simulations illustrate some aspects of solution behaviour. Monodimensional experiments are presented. Mathematics Subject Classification (2010). Primary 35F31; Secondary 00A69.

On the Cauchy Problem for the Derivative Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation with Periodic Boundary Condition

It is shown that the Cauchy problem associated to the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation ∂tu − i∂ xu = λ∂x(|u| u) is locally well-posed for initial data u(0) ∈ H(T), if s ≥ 1 2 and λ is real. The proof is based on an adaption of the gauge transformation to periodic functions and sharp multi-linear estimates for the gauge equivalent equation in Fourier restriction norm spaces. By the use ...
